TOPIC: DON’T LOOK BACK 4
And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere. (Luke 9:6)
Every bitterness has its root. Spiritual contamination can be traced to bitterness.
“Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.” (Hebrews 12:15-16)
Esau came back one day very hungry and asked his brother to give him food but his brother gave him a condition. Esau surrendered his birthright to his younger brother.
May God give you the wisdom to operate with a brother or sister whose heart is not pure with you. If what you are going through financially is a result of the help you received from your brother, may God deliver you and make you a lender.
The portion Isaac had for them was not just a physical possession. Looking back here means do not sell your birthright. Whoever is following Jesus and decides to look back to what seems to be the present order of events in the world but does not have eternal value is not fit for the kingdom.
Your birthright is the salvation of your soul. Don’t trade it for anything. “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. (Hebrews 3:12-13)
The hardness of the heart is caused by the twisted messages of grace that dominate the media space. We shall not be condemned alongside the world. Don’t cheapen the salvation of your soul.
MEDITATION:
The wisdom of God is in me.
PRAYER:
1. The refiner’s fire has come on me to help me escape the snare of the devil in Jesus name.
2. I am a divine project that cannot be abandoned in Jesus name.
