THE WOMAN BROKE THE BOX

And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured [it] on his head. And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. ( Mark 14:3-7)
You come to church you come expensive – expensive mindset, expensive future, even though from a poor background. My today may be poor, but I carry expensive tomorrow. When you see a privilege give let nothing be attached to your giving. Break it!
Instantly they picked offense, those who don’t like people to be committed expensively. Jesus answered, you have the poor you can always attend to them. I can’t be counted amongst the poor. don’t bother this woman leave her alone! I urge them to leave you alone, leave your children alone.
What does it mean to break the box?
• This means giving your best to the Lord for what he has done and for what He is doing for you. Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: Proverbs 3:9). Man may show you pity but it is only God that shows you mercy not allowing you to be killed.
• Coming before the Lord with an open heart. there is nothing to hide. Lord let the word screen me as I come into your presence, open me up.
• Separating yourself from the crowd and single-handedly doing the unusual for the kingdom. Breaking the limit, crossing the boundary.
• Overlooking and ignoring evil counsel and counselors in order to meet kingdom needs.
Helps to breaking the box:
• Come as you are: don’t be hidden in another person’s identity. Be yourself in His presence. Refuse to look like another person. This box is the content of what you carry. So if you must break it you must be yourself.
• Be unique in your approach to kingdom pursuit. It’s not everything you must copy. Your uniqueness makes you relevant.
• Chat your own course and pursue it. Kingdom race is a personal thing.
MEDITATION
In this kingdom, I will not be a bad referral.
PRAYERS
1. Lord help me to stand out and stand unique in this kingdom race.
2. My father my maker, help me to be rooted in my kingdom pursuit profitably.
