THE NEED FOR PREPARATION 2

THE NEED FOR PREPARATION 2

TUESDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER, 2022

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.(2Timothy 2:15)

There must be a nurturing of the expectations, ambitions, and visions (Future).

The role of parents in this regard is found in Proverbs 22:6; Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Parents should not “trim down” but “train up” their children.

Some parents tend to trim down the expression of good tendencies in their children while growing up. They shout unnecessary at every step they take in carrying out their developmental task until the child becomes dull and lack boldness in dealing with issues of life.

Training of children is done via God’s word and good counsel.

And, ye fathers provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)

The role of a father in training up a child is that:

Fathers should provide for their children and be faithful leaders of the home.

Fathers should know that God has endowed them with the power to change and upgrade the destiny of their children.

On the other hand, they have the power to curse and downgrade the destiny of their children. A case study is that of Noah and Ham.

Some fathers are quick to curse and slow to bless. Children should avoid curses from their parents.

Mothers are incubators of destiny. They help in changing the destiny of their children.

Rebecca prepared Jacob for the blessing of Esau.

If you don’t have a caring mother, the blessings your father release might not find expression in you.

The mother of king Lemuel knew that one day her child would become a king so she started giving the child good counsel.

Likewise Samuel and his mother.

John the Baptist would have repeated history if not for the intervention of Elizabeth, his mother.

MEDITATION: I receive wisdom to escape parental curses.

PRAYER:

1. Abba father, in anywhere I have been cursed by my parents directly or indirectly let such curse be broken in the name of Jesus.

2. Father, by your power, raise a standard against a repeat of the negative family pattern in my life and destiny in the name of Jesus.
