FRESH WINE

TUESDAY 30TH AUGUST 2022

And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom. John 2:3-9

The pots of water that were turned into wine before now were abandoned pots that were only used for feet washing and armpit washing, yet they remained there. They were being used and dumped by all categories of people, but when Jesus stepped in and turned the water into wine, it was no more accessible by every commoner, it became winery that was meant for the governor of the feast and the noble men.

As the water from these pots was turned to wine, the same you, through the word of God has been transformed to a fresh you with a fresh taste suitable for governors, suitable for promotion to the best level in life. You are in the noble class. The new you have emerged the best of you is birth forth go forth in this thy might and do exploit for the kingdom. These six pots choose to remain in the potter’s house.

MEDITATION: The word of God is shaping me to become who God created me to be.
