DEVELOPING AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8)
Excellence is an attitude of the heart. It is not something that we do just from the blues. Living an excellent life means being excellent in every area of our lives, and that can only be accomplished through a decision of the heart.
Using Daniel as a case study, the Bible doesn’t say that Daniel was excellent only at counseling and interpretation of dreams. The Bible says that Daniel had an excellent Spirit, which means he did everything in an excellent manner including keeping his body fit, praying always etc
As a child of God, you are expected to show excellence in all your pursuits. Daniel was, a Jewish boy who had been captured by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon along with other young, healthy and strong men of Israel.
Babylon had more knowledge than any other city at that time. It had wealth and fame during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar.
The king’s plan was to feed his young Hebrew captives with the best food, the best wine and give them the best education. But Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the king’s delicacies.
MEDITATION:
An excellent spirit is my birthright
PRAYER
1. My father and my maker, activate the spirit of excellence in me in Jesus name
2. I refuse to do things haphazardly in the name of Jesus
