And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost. (Acts 12:23)
Angels work for God’s people and work against the enemies of God. May you not make yourself an enemy of God.
God is saying “I will command the ministry of Angels to favour you”. Angels work in your favour but when you live a life of sin, the reverse is the case.
When the king arrested James, nothing was done about it. When He saw that by killing James the Jews were happy, He went further to arrest Peter to be killed, but prayer was made by the Church and God sent His Angels to rescue Peter.
The same Herod who was instrumental in the killing of James was smitten by the angel of God.
MEDITATION:
I am on the Lord’s side.
PRAYER:
1. Oh God, fight for me as I hold my peace in Jesus’ name.
2. Abba Father, grant me wisdom to escape the sword of the Angels in Jesus’ name.
