TOPIC: BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD 2.
“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts” Zechariah 4:6.
And if there is any prayer everybody should pray every day, should be Lord help me to begin and end well, for the Bible says the end of a matter is better than the beginning thereof. So it is my heart cry that the Lord shall help me to end well. He shall help you too.
Jesus while speaking to the multitude says any man who desires to build a tower should first of all sit down and count the cost. If he does not sit down to count the cost he will start the building very well, but because he didn’t count the cost, he will not complete it.
Contextually here, counting the cost is understanding of the rudiment of following the master. What it takes to follow the master and follow him to the end. He said you will leave the building half way and the builder and the building will remain as objects of mockery.
Everyone who passes by will say this person started the building but he could not complete it. And you know more than I do that there are many people who started this Christian race before you even came into the kingdom of God and got born again but today they are dining with Satan.
They have become negative and shameful point of reference as far as the kingdom of God is concerned. It will only take the help of the Holy Spirit for one to begin and end well.
MEDITATION:
I refuse to be a point of negative reference
PRAYERS:
Abba father, in your wisdom and mercy help me to start and finish this year gloriously in style to the glory of your name in the name of Jesus.
Lord Jesus, let your presence repel every darkness, restore and strengthen my heart for evangelism.
