A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. (Proverbs 29:23) KJV.
Proud life means being arrogant and lousy. It is self-exaltation. It is the feeling of being better than others, creating a false sense of importance. Are you proud?
Signs of pride (how do you know a proud person)
• When you deliberately neglect your assigned duty because you know no one could do it at that time, you are proud.
• When you demand respect and honour from people. Respect is earned and not supposed to be demanded. As a matter of fact, you work for it. Herod was destroyed because of pride (Act 12:18-25) Lucifer was thrown down because of pride. (Isaiah 14:12-15). May pride not push you away from such a throne God has taken you to.
• When you build strong defensive walls around your wrong action, quoting scriptures to support them.
• When you refuse to accept the blame for your wrong.
• When you cover your sin (wrong) and shift the blame to your neighbour (Prob.28:13)
• When you lack the patience to wait, to listen, to serve and be led by someone else. Proud people hardly tolerate others. Proverbs 14:29 “[He that is] slow to wrath [is] of great understanding: but [he that is] hasty of spirit exalteth folly”(KJV). Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD”.(KJV)
• When you always bring others down in order to lift yourself. This is an inflated sense of self. Romans 14:10 “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ”
MEDITATION: I refuse to sin against my soul therefore I dissociate from pride.
PRAYERS:
1. Abba father help my heart, my family trait wants to disgrace me. Break me loose and give me the mind of Christ to live the kingdom lifestyle.
2. My father and my Maker, every evil foot that wants to create a question mark in my destiny what are you waiting for expire and backfire in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
