MINISTERING TO THE LORD
TUESDAY 1ST MARCH 2022
And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim…(KJV) 2 Samuel 23:8-17
To minister means to attain to responsibility, it also means to worship: with your substance, by investing your time.
To minister means to worship the Lord with your talent and ability. it also means to contribute to the total wellbeing of God’s kingdom on earth.
To minister to the Lord is to supply or to furnish with the necessity on ground. It also means to extend help and support.
Requirements for ministering to the Lord
You must be ready to stand in the gap:
(Ezekiel 22:30) And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
It takes a high level of sensitive for you to discover that there is a gap for you to fill, and it takes boldness to fill the gap.
Nehemiah was serving as one of those people in exile. He was made a governor because he had a burden to bring back the glory of Jerusalem. Have you done what you were created to do? God will use someone.
How can heaven be crying when you are alive. God has helped you with ability and talent, God didn’t make a mistake so don’t be among those people God created and regrets.
Note that you can do many things. What is taking your time? The question that day will be, have you done what I have asked you to do on earth? In the evening season of your life you can’t do anything again. There is a time God is expecting you to make use of your time, your youthfulness means your usefulness.
The evening season can be old age, time of sickness, when you are experiencing poverty, when there is no strength and joy of service. You must understand your place and calling in God don’t be dormant.
MEDITATION: I am satisfied with Jesus and He has blessed my hands to prosper that I might minister joyfully to the Him, His servant and humanity.
PRAYERS:
1. Oh Lord, help me to overcome the spirit of procrastination and all forms of hindrances. Help me to render services to God and to my man of God in due season.
2. I receive grace to serve God substantially with my substances as God helps and I reject the torment of hell in my life towards standing in the gap in Jesus name.
