EATING THE WORD
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16
A great philosopher made this statement “Man is what he eats” meaning you act in line with what you eat, for a example, someone who has taken a good measure of alcohol is most likely to behave accordingly. Now if you eat the word; you would express the word. if you go close to someone who has taken enough alcohol the individual is likely to smell what he has taken.
Similarly, when you eat the word; you smell the word and grow by the word. So your physical, mental and spiritual growth is tied to what you eat per-time.
Let’s take another example; if you are following a particular Author by reading his book, at a point unknown to you, you start talking the way that man talks even when you have not met him face to face.
Also, if you listen to someone message consistently over a period of time, your spirit will begin to feed on his word and before you know it; you see yourself acting the way he acts, behaving the way he behaves because you are eating his word. So when you eat God’s word you act the way God acts.
The word of God must be swallowed during bible study, devotional etc. The word you eat is medicinal in every aspect and dimension such that at any level or age if taken should have no side effect and if it is administered raw you may be able to swallow. By swallowing the word of life, everything that has tied you down their chains and padlocks are broken in the name of Jesus.
MEDITATION: the word came as flesh to pay the price for me, therefore am not indebted to sin
PRAYERS:
- By the blood of Jesus, I break every power that wants to hinder the word from working in me in the name of Jesus.
- I break the power of spiritual ignorance in the mighty name of Jesus.
